skinny, a poem

I pinch my skin

Is there anybody home

I restrict what swallow in hope

somebody would notice my bones

I dance on a wire

Till my feet bleed

I keep on a smile in hope

Gods watching what he made of me

Skinny can you try and tolerate

The bruises they leave on you one more day

Another boy will come and take

Aren’t you tired?

Skinny won’t you try to behave

You’re cracks are showing in your makeup babe

The streets are no place to stay

Aren’t you tired?

What’d they do

to you

before you knew your name

I use therapy

Instead of confrontation

Those that deserve my hurt

Are too proud to ever listen

Skinny can you try and tolerate

The bruises they leave on you one more day

Another boy will come and take

Aren’t you tired?

Skinny won’t you try to behave

You’re cracks are showing in your makeup babe

The streets are no place to stay

Aren’t you tired?

What’d they do

to you

before you knew your name

Why do you change your name

In every new place you’ve been

Why do you change your name

In every new place you’ve been

Aren’t you tired?
