Florence Pugh And Her Stylist
Florence Pugh and her Stylist are the only celebrity power couple I need daily updates on.
Rebecca Corbin-Murray has been on Pugh's team for the last two years and counting, and has done an effervescent job at supporting Pugh's crazy life and even crazier press captured events. What celebrities wear can either heighten their experience in the limelight or bring them down, or even worse - have them not be seen at all.
Stylist rule number #1 "Don't dress a star in camo."
“Florence is very true to herself,” said Corbin-Murray. “She loves bold, colorful, interesting shapes—anything avant-garde, or a little bit mad and quirky, really gives her joy.”
My favorite stylist moment with Pugh was back during the "don't worry darling" screen filming during the Venice Beach Film Festival. Amidst the screening, there was some serious drama behind the scenes between Pugh and director Olivia Wilde. In a nutshell, Wilde had a lot of nasty things to say about Pugh behind her back that came to light, along with paying her signifigantly less then her male co-actor Harry Styles.
It was announced that Pugh wouldn't be attending the film festival due to "schedule conflicts," but posted a video on her instagram that same day of her living her best life in a violet Valentino Two piece and a wine glass in hand. Everyone who was following the story has seen the video, and this outfit says it all.
Press was spinning about Pugh's reaction to Wilde, and her seeming to effortlessly brush off the negative interaction. From a fellow stylists perspective, this outfit was a total win and told the whole story even though Pugh says absolutely nothing in the video. The bright violet says, "I'm not going anywhere, I'm right here. I'm doing me."
The perfect work of a stylist is when clothing speaks for itself, and it has something bold and brilliant to say. This scene is what drew me to Corbin-Murray, and what will have me keep an eye on her work in the future.
The stylist and Pugh's collaboration was brilliant, and I wouldn't change a single thing about the entire approach to the event. It appears that Corbin-Murray knows how to work with her clients and honor their personal styles without forcing her personal opinions on them. It's clear she's team #Flo when she addresses to Vogue that Pugh always loves a fun fashion moment, and has an emotional approach to the things she wears. I aspire to be as stylistically intelligent as Corbin-Murray, we stan a PR queen.
