Cara Mia

Photographer

I’ve noticed that photographers wear many hats as a stylist, location scout, visual director and more.

I’ve always loved photography, and the creation of bringing something in my head to life. I feel a deep intuitive connection to everything around me when my eyes and hands work like a second brain, and I’m effortlessly able to capture a mesmerizing image.

A successful commercial photographer would strive to work worldwide, encapsulating multiple different ideas and brands, focusing on quality over quantity.

“Why am I doing this?”

Cara Mia would ask herself, working as a destination elopement and wedding photographer. This thought sparked an intuitive feeling of creating what she wanted to see.

“I know that’s not a five-step formula to growing your business, but I do think it’s key to owning what you love and ditching the imposter syndrome (which everyone feels at one point or other). I just decided to believe that I could do it, and I put in the work, and I did it. I didn’t let excuses get in my way. I had a full-time job (I still have a full-time job, actually, as a copywriter), and I haven’t let that stop me.” - Mia

Draw the art you want to see, start the business you want to run, play the music you want to hear, write the books you want to read, build the products you want to use, do the work you want to see done.
— Austin Kleon, quoted by CaraMia
